PPTP has been considered very insecure for many years. 2000 probably uses PAP or Chap, Win 10 will want to use Chap V2 which I doubt 2000 supports, but I don't recall. If that is the case you will have to change the Win 10 client to use the matching protocol which makes it even more insecure.
